Kelli Lakis has been a fitness professional for decades (yikes!)—and even won a bodybuilding competition fresh out of college. But it wasn’t until she moved to Boulder, Colorado, that she became addicted to the outdoors: mountain biking, trail running, skiing. Why go to a gym when you have mountains in your backyard? But when she discovered how spinning translated to improved performance outside, she was hooked and started teaching classes way back in 1998. Kelli believes that if you can’t do it outside on a bike, you shouldn’t do it in a cycling class. So you’ll ride to the music—everything from Cirque du Soleil and Dixie Chicks to Black Eyed Peas and The Who—and leave feeling like you’ve just single-tracked the Rockies (this chick loves to climb!). Kelli also believes that with a positive attitude, you can do anything. At the start of the San Diego marathon a few years back, her third metatarsal completely snapped in half…and she still finished the race.

He spends the majority of his non-work hours instructing or training for his true passion: cycling. Jeff enjoys the road, having done the Bicycle Tour of Colorado 2 times, but he loves the dirt. During spring, summer and fall he averages 125 miles a week off-road and competes in endurance mountain bike races. His 2011 calendar includes 4-hour, 6-hour, 9-hour and 12-hour lap-based races, one 50 mile race and three 100+ mile races. And just to mix things up this year he has entered the Poconos Half Iron Man. Jeff brings this enthusiasm for cycling and fitness back into the classroom and believes that there is no better way to train than in a group setting. You will also find that Jeff likes to use the TV monitors in the studio.
